My TruSculpt Experience on Great Day Houston

There's so many great blessings that being a mom of 3 beautiful children has given me. I love taking care of these babes. I love laughing with them. Waking up each day to see their little personalities evolve and mature that I can even see what the adult in them is going to be like. I truly think that I'm that mom that's going to want to hang out with my 3 little best friends when they grow up. They've given me so much --- Even an inner tube of stubborn fat around my mid section and stretch marks.

I had tried everything to remedy the place on my new mommy body that I had now become self conscience about. From wraps, cremes, lessening my carb in take to only 20 grams (Sometimes 40 grams a day if I wanted to divulge a bit), pushing myself to work out 5 days a week, wearing waist trainers, and what ever crazed fade is going on that month. But nothing seemed to work.

Check out my experience on Great Day Houston. Debra Duncan gets TruSculpt on air!

Yep, I can't believe I'm saying this. We have a family dog now! The children have been begging for years and I finally gave in. We adopted Mabel this month. She is clever and sweet. She really has taken to Winter. They're inseparable! But, oh my goodness, this is challenging!

What I've learned about having a dog and children...that no matter how many kids you have it's never enough help to care for a baby puppy. She's excitable and can be rowdy at times. She loves attention and will bark if you don't give it to her. We adopted Mabel from a rescue agency. We don't know what sort of breed she is. But we've heard Cocker Spaniel quite a bit. She knows how to follow the "sit" command and she's starting to get a handle on her potty training.

Each week we try to have a family meeting each week. My youngest usually uses this time to tattle on her older siblings. But this week we discussed the responsibilities of having a dog in the family. The kiddos agreed to share the responsibility, to walk the dog, to feed the dog, etc. So far they've been so great with our new addition.

But the dynamic that Mabel has had on our family is phenomenal. Her personality compliments our family so well. She's just a lot like us. I've never owned a dog like this! The kids are so happy and it makes Mommy happy to.

SmartLipo My Mom Body Makeover!

It was my thinking that with age I would have to resort to one piece bathing suits this summer. Gravity and the effects of having 3 healthy sized babies took a toll on my body. Always having lived a strictly low carb daily intake and keeping active [There was a time I was in the gym 5 days a week. Lately, I've been running] it seemed that no matter what I did my mid section seemed to never shrink.  Over time, I could see that traditional healthy eating and exercise weren't going to bring me back to what my body was before having children. I knew my days of having more children were over and I it was time to put a little focus on my body. I met with Dr. Kern at Image Enhancement Center to discuss my body goals and I was happy to hear that I was a candidate for SmartLipo! Check out my video journal! I was so happy to share before and after results and my story on Great Day Houston with Debra Duncan. When I saw my before and after results I was astonished! This was the best decision I've made for myself and I'm so happy with my shape!

Swimsuit season is just around the corner and now I feel ready to go shopping for new bikinis! I'm so happy to have a flatter tummy and curvier shape now.  I won't shy away from trying on the fun two pieces this season!

Houston Small Businesses

Working with other Houston business owners has been such an experience. As a community, we learn so much from each other from workshops, entrepreneur social events, and basic networking. The wealth of knowledge is abundant once you get all talking shop! I want to promote Houston small businesses, especially those owned by women. I loved working with Megan Minns on this tiny highlight clip and photoshoot.  She's a modern businesswoman who helps others get their businesses up off the ground. The photos came out amazing and fun! I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know more about what she does and meeting her darling puppies! Here are some of my favorite photos from the shoot!

The Gentry

Today we're flipping the script and this one is for the gentlemen! My Brighton was invited to The Gentry for the Little Prince experience. Saying that Brighton 'loved' his time at The Gentry would be an understatement. We've been on the search for an affordable and comfortable barber for my boy. Eli, the barber, was like watching an opera! The before and after transformation is out of this world! The Gentry is the only gentlemen's salon that I've seen that takes it to the next level in style, cut, shave, and an overall atmosphere that any gent could appreciate!

He loved that there were lolli pops for him!

Brighton loved his new look. He woke up the day after saying "It was hard sleeping with trying not to mess up my hair!" I love that my little guy feels like a really cool guy. Kevin even is wanting to change salons.

Kevin has been going to the same hairstylist for years. But let's be honest here...How great can your cut be if your stylist has a glass eye?! Yes, I said 'glass eye'. smh. Where would he be without me. I've been cutting all the boys hair for the last few months. But really...I don't have time for it. The Gentry is going to be a blessing to our family. Kev can have a beer and B can have a lollipop and walk out fly. #wifegoals

Never Half Hearted

I feel like this was such a long time ago, when I acted the part of "Typical Housewife" for this amazing Houston company, Tramontina. Who would believe as 30 year old women I would have the opportunity to act. In the commercial, the Induction Cooking System was to be my kitchen tool of choice. Thank goodness for the amazing Houston chef that we had on set to assist me with making delicious looking meals and some cooking techniques. Because my cooking is not nearly as neat and shiny!

On top of photography, acting has been a passion of mine since I started in musical theater in high school. When I was a kid I preferred watching films like the Bell Boy (Jerry Lewis), American in Paris, Gigi, My Fair Lady, Flash Dance, and The King and I. I couldn't get enough of it. I practiced dancing every day and night. I participated in every free workshop I could get my hands on to. I excelled in violin, cello, and taught myself guitar. I taught my self the flute. I joined community theater. I earned great parts in school musicals. Soon I was invited to be apart of an exclusive dance team for the community. Even asked to coach a youth cheer team on campus. I was at photographer and journalist for our yearbook. I auditioned for everything I could in the small NATO base in Belgium, that my father was stationed at, that I could. I wanted to learn as many skills and experience as much I could. Eventually I would win 2nd place in the Talent Show for dancing to Chicago All That Jazz...I've never had a dance class in my life. But I can tell you...I've dance all my life and I stand by that.

Every bit of what I learned from dancing, cheer, acting, and modeling taught me more how to pose models, give direction, create an independent and distinct style of my own, how angles play to light, and how to pull reactions that you desired out of your subject you were photographing.

I believe that every experience you gain and especially those you go after with all passion will manifest itself in you and make you better in something else. Maybe something else you were already so great at. Once even came close to fainting during a tryout. But each time I thought it would be the end of me...I knew I wanted it so much more than anyone else. Be a master of your art. And make sure you put your whole heart into it. Don't half ass it. Nothing every great was accomplished by the half hearted.
